Blogging can certainly take up a lot of time. Have you ever sat down to write a ‘quick’ blog post only to finish hours later? You definitely aren’t alone!
If you feel as though you don’t have time to start a blog, or have been neglecting your blog as you’re just too busy to write – here are some tips on how to write a blog post in less than 30 minutes…

Keep a list of ideas
It’s always the way, you have a great idea for a blog post when you’re driving or at work, but when you open your laptop later you can’t think of anything to write about.
The trick is to jot down your ideas whenever you think of them, either in a physical notepad or on your phone. Write down titles or topics as they pop into your head so you can remember them later. If you have some free time but aren’t in front of your laptop, you can get out your notebook and write some bullet points or headings under the possible titles to brainstorm.
This way, when you are ready to start writing you already have some of the content worked out in your head.
Use a checklist
There are certain things that you need to include in every blog post no matter what it’s about. Create yourself a checklist that you can save on your laptop or phone to include each item that needs to be completed before you can hit publish.
This might include adding keywords, setting tags and categories, checking for spelling mistakes, or adding Pinterest images.
By having a list to hand to tick items off as you write you’ll save yourself a lot of time.

Have a file full of blog photos
Sometimes finding the right imagery for your blog posts and accompanying social media graphics takes longer than actually writing the post in the first place. It can be really helpful to take photos in batches, or download multiple stock photos, and save them in a folder on your laptop. If you have a certain style of photo for your blog it can make it easier to find lots of photos in one go.
When you’ve written a post you can then just dip into the folder and upload a photo that fits the content.
Use Yoast SEO
Writing SEO-friendly blog posts is vital to getting your content found in search engines but if you find that SEO takes up a lot of your time you need to download the free Yoast SEO plugin. Rather than trying to remember what you need to do to optimise your blog posts for search engines, simply enter your chosen keyword and Yoast will remind you what you need to include such as setting the meta description and including links. Once the light shows green you’re ready to go.
Get help with spelling and grammar
If you find that you spend a lot of time proofreading and spell-checking your posts before publishing, the Grammarly tool might just be a lifesaver.
