#1 Spelling and grammar mistakes

Check, check and check again! Proofread all your posts for spelling and grammar mistakes – if you make these in your social media posts it will put people off from clicking through to read your blog posts.

If you’re shortening a post to fit within the character limit on Twitter, make sure it still reads ok if you have abbreviated words.

We use the Grammarly browser extension which checks your spelling and grammar on social media posts as well as blogs and emails, so is definitely worth installing to give you that extra helping hand.

#2 Posting incorrect links

Before you hit the publish button, just double check that you’ve included the correct link for the post. Click on it before posting so you can be sure that it goes through to the correct blog posts or news article.

When you have multiple browsers open, copying the wrong link is easily done!

If you’ve used a statistic or a fact in your social media post, just do a quick Google search before posting so you can be confident that the information is right before you share it with the world.
